Hi thecruisedude23, welcome to Cruise-Chat. The drug problems, so far, have not reached the cruise ports and I seriously doubt they will. The tourist industry is too important to let it be destroyed by the drug cartel. So far, they are operating in areas where there is no other major source of income. I would assume the Mexican government would not want anything to happen to any cruise port because of loss of income. Rest assured, the cruise lines monitor all types of turmoil in the countries they visit. If it ever gets too bad, they'll change the itinerary. Passenger safety is of utmost importance. After all, they don't want law suits and they sure don't want to lose any potential passengers.
