I heard that Cozumel is still very damaged due to the hurricanes. Is there going to be enough stores and restaurants to keep me busy or do I need to book an excursion??????

I think you'll find plenty to do without booking an excursion. However, Xel-ha is a great place to snorkel. The ruins in Telum are extremely interesting. Chanakaab is supposed to be open 6/1/06. We did a swim with the dolphins there which was awesome. Enjoy your cruise!!

spyder - sounds like your sources may be out of date, Cozumel is in excellent shape!

We were just in Cozumel. It was great! I can't believe how quickly they have put so many places back together! You will have a great time! Yes you will be able to tell they had a hurricane there, but I have been to Cozumel pre hurricane (2 years ago) and post hurricane (less than 2 weeks ago) and was amazed how great it looked! We found some great shopping in a new shopping center area by Senior Frogs. There is a Taxi stand there too so very easy going to and from Port.
