My daughter want to see ruins while in Costa Maya, are there any there? Where? Would you advise the ship excursion or would rent a guy for a day to take you, there are 8 people in our party. Thank-You

I'd take the ship excursion, as time could be a concern. If you don't get back to the ship on time and you are on your own excursion, you will have to get yourself to the next port of call at your own expense! There are 2 major ruins accessible from Costa Maya: Tulum, the smaller of the 2, is on the coast, and is in that area; Chichen Itza is much larger and is about 90 minutes inland.
