Western Caribbean Cruise in January

My husband and I are cruising on the Ruby in January with two 18 year olds.....any suggestions on shore excursions? Our ports of call are Ocho Rios, Grand Caymen, Cozumel and Princess Cays. My husband and I like to relax on a beach, the kids like adventure.

Ocho Rios-Dunns River Falls, Cozumel-Chankanaab Park or Tulhum/Xel-ha excursion,Grand Cayman-Sting Ray City, and Princess Cays-Beach day. If you want tons of posts for your ports, you can use the "Find" feature in the upper left hand corner. Type in your ports and it will pull up all the posts made about them. You might find something that really interests you. Hope you enjoy Princess as much as we do, they're our favorite line, so far. The Ruby is brand new, and she's a beauty. We sailed on the Emerald last year. Here's a link to some pictures from the Emerald if you're interested. If you go to the Crown Grill (extra fee restaruant) try the Black and Blue Onion Soup-awesome! Check out the International Cafe on the Plaza (I believe) deck. They have some free items for lunch and breakfast, plus they have gelato 3 scoops for $1.50 that was fantastic. Best wishes for a wonderful cruise!

We used shoretrips.com for a river tubing adventure at Ocho Rios, and also a horseback ride at Ocho (through forest and down the beach and into the ocean) which we count among our best tours (we are not horse people, this is just a "vacation adventure" for us. Dunns River Falls is cool, but you are just clawing your way up a tiered waterfall and it is rather commercial. At Cayman Sting Ray City is worth seeing--Captain Marvins or Moby Dicks (do a search of this site for reviews, I believe they both have websites) Chankanaab is great at Cozumel. We did a jeep tour in Cozumel last time through Shoretrips.com that had brief shopping, snorkeling, a beach stop, site-seeing, historic sites, a cantina and a firegrilled chicken/handmade tortilla luncheon--this was my husband's favorite shore trip EVER and it had something for our teens and us. (we always travel with the kids who are now 21 and 14).

I would recommend a great tour we did in Cayman, snorkeling, stingray city, star fish beach and Rum Point Beach. They even have tubing behind the boat, our teens loved it. It was called the Outrage Stingray City Tour. We booked it with Caribbean Shore Tours.

In Cozumel our favorite beach club is Nachi Cocom, you can't beat it. All inclusive with the best beach and pool. They have it on Cozumel Cruise Excursions.

In Ocho Rios, we enjoyed hte combo tour of Dunns river falls and river tubing.
