We are visiting Belize, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Nassau Bahamas in July. Any advice on what tours to choose and who to book through would be greatly appreciated since this is our first cruise. Thanks!

We like to snorkel in Belize--although cave tubing gets good reviews. It is a tender port and you are far from the "town" so excursions that depart from the ship like snorkeling save you some monkeying around. We like the beach at Cozumel and also swim with dolphins--not sure if they are doing the dolphins yet after hurricane Wilma. Have fun! Laurie

In Costa Maya, we have seen the ruins with David and Ivan. We loved this excursion. Afterwards we went to the beach at the little fishing village of Majahual and enjoyed our afternoon eating and relaxing. I have pictures in my signature if you'd like to see some of the ruins and the beach pictures.

While in Nassau we took the Blue Lagoon tour, (where Blue Lagoon movie was made), which was great. We snorkeled and they have a nice lunch there you can buy. In Freeport we swam with the Dolphins which was personal and up close. Looking at the picture with the kiss from the Dolphin right now. Such memories

Costa Maya is a cruiseline made port. There is a swim-up bar and a lot of shops at the end of the pier. You can either take a taxi, or walk to your left about maybe a mile, to the little fishing village of Majahual. I have heard that you can take some nice snorkeling excursions on boats at the village's pier. (Saw some great pictures over on Cruise Critic.) Great cheap food and drinks.

Hope this helps.

hi travgurl. Welcome. If you go to Belize and Cozumel make sure you try to snorkel at at least one, if not both locations. Both spots have some of the best diving/snorkeling reefs and colorful tropical fish you are ever going to find. We have never done the cave tubing. Heard it's pretty cool. We've snorkeled Goff's Cay in Belize 3 times. Gorgeous. Tiny island with beautiful, clean white sand, palm trees and great reefs. The island sits out in the middle of the ocean. Cozumel, for us, is Chankanaab Park. Another pristine spot. We had the opportunity to see a Barracuda swimming here. Food and drink is available for purchase here. Music playing. Lounge chairs are on the beach for your use. A really fun place to go. Both Belize and Cozumel have crystal clear blue waters. We have been going to Cozumel for 20 years and it just keeps getting better. Have a great cruise.
