We have the same tracking software. Once someone registers online for whatever reason, in Carnival's case your cruise, reservation, etc, your computer IP address is automatically tied to your profile. Anytime you look at the website, your PVP gets an email from the tracking software. If you never have had a PVP, it gets randomly assigned to a PVP for lead followup. Deleting cookies will stop this, until you have to register at an intercept point to explore the site further. Just FYI, once you have a profile, they can look at every web visit and see exactly what you looked at and how long you spent on each page.

Dave,
It was funny reading this, I just went into their website to look at a cruise to no where from here in Norfolk for a few women at work. I got a call also about wanting to help me with a cruise I was interested in! I also got e-mail from them too.
I was hoping it was just when you had to re-enter your password for something. janfred, if you just pull the page up, does it have your search listed on the top left?
I never log out of the site, and only have to put my password in for certain things. They sure seem to be getting aggressive with this.
My calls started about the same time they issued the statement about the Fantasy coming to Mobile. To their credit, it was the same person who called me every time. Eventually, I stopped answering and he stopped calling. I am now very hesitant to answer any call from the 305 area code.
I just ordered a new brochure - I'll see if Dave, my PVP gives me a call or if some other at-random PVP picks up my name. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Carnival called me again today - same PVP - and he also sent me a card which arrived in today's mail. And then another e-mail. This one had his Carnival e-mail address in it so I replied and asked if he bothered to look at my Carnival account he'd know I have and use an agent.
Persistence like this doesn't work with me. It tends to make me not want to book with Carnival. So, PVP "Ed"...time to walk away and leave Dave alone!
I received a postcard with a nice picture of the Conquest on the front from a PVP today. Here is the body of the letter:
Dear Robert,
I know your vacation time is precious and I'm delighted you chose to spend it with Carnival. It will be my pleasure to welcome aboard (improper grammar copied verbatim) again soon. Please contact me to hear all about our Exclusive Past Guest promotions. In the meantime, enclosed are my business cards. Please shere(sic) them with your family and friends so they too can experience Carnival's "Fun Ships."
