I cruise in about 2 months. How soon should I download the electronic documents? Do I need to notify Carnival that I do it so they don't send the Old "Blue packet". I've seen the advise on the luggage tags, very important, we will laminate them. But what else do I need to know? Do I need a color printer, should I use 24 pound paper? If the printer jams can I print again or do I get just one chance?

You can download them anytime you want and as often as you want, BUT once you do, CCL will not isssue hard tickets anymore.
For my Celebration cruise (cruise only),I printed my docs on black and white. Just make sure you have a clear barcode for the luggage tag.
I am booking cruise air for my cruise in March so i am more comfortable with the "Blue Book".
I have heard travellers having problems with their e-ticket on a piece of paper.

Hi CruiseDad, yes you can download them as many times as you want it seems. You don't need to notify Carnival. I am pretty sure that once you view the Docs it will cancel the "Blue Book" regardless if you download the file or not. We got our mailed Docs with a postmark date of 33 days prior to sailing. So I am guessing to add a week to that to avoid getting the mailed Docs as they may be in que by then to be printed and mailed.

If you don't mind me asking, why don't you want the "Blue Book" ?

Best regards,

Dwayne
