I have read somewhere else about the casinos and it raises a question.

I know that is about the only place to use cash while on the cruise. Can cash be used for every game? (Slots as well as table games?) And are winnings paid in cash when you decide to leave or is it credit on the SnS card?

I intend to gamble a little and am curious.

Thanks

I gambled (alot) on last Legend cruise....all the tables and slots took cash. You can cash out for cash (at slots) and turn your chips in from table games at the window. Good luck!

The casino will allow you to buy chips with your sign and sail card too if you don't want to bring cash. I have never asked them to cash me out on the sign and sail card so I don't know if they will do it. I think not. BUt you can get cash from the casino and head straight to the pursures desk and apply it to you S&S account.

I usually bring cash or travelers checks (which work in the casino too but you first have to cash them at the casino cashier.) Because to charge it on your S&S card is a 3% fee. I'm already giving them too much money, I'm not going to pay a fee for the privledge

Yes, even if you put 75 cents in a slot and win $1600 they come to you and count out crisp US $100 bills. If you win over $1200 at one time you will be required to sign a tax document to be reported.

And I do the same as Jim when I win. I go to desk and apply to my account. I also take my gambling allowance in cash or traveler's checks.

Never charge or borrow is my rule. I allow myself so much to play with and lose. And I always have a good time either way

Jim, you are right about having to cash-out at the casino and then take money to pursers desk to apply to the sail and sign account. The casino is set up as a somewhat "separate entity" like all of the stores and bars. Every time you purchase tokens on the card, it is the same process as buying something in the gift shop, except for the added fee.

Just returned from a cruise on the Miracle. I made top ten in both slot tournaments and won the second one. They paid the $500 in cash.

T-Shirt? I usually get a T-Shirt win or lose. I meet the Casino Host/Hostess the first day and make sure my OceanPlayers Club is in order. They always look after me, and give me T-Shirts and stuff the last day. And have sent me a few free drinks just for playing quarter slots

I joined the Ocean Players Club last year. Now, before I cruise, I send the casino host of the ship I'm traveling an email that i will be there on such and such a date. I did this last week for my upcoming Glory sailing and got an email back from the host saying there will be a surprise in my cabin and I should come and meet him when we arrive.
