My family has sailed on Carnival out of Galveston twice. Both great trips. I have heard alot about going to the terminal and getting walk-on prices if there are any empty cabins. Has anyone done this and what are the savings. I'm wondering if its worth it to try. It would be for me and a friend so we would only be looking for one cabin.
Thanks in advance for any ideas. |
I believe that this is no longer an option post 9/11. The Cruise line needs to have your info 72 hours in advance.

I have to agree. Since 9/11 the cruise lines try to have final rooming lists no later than 30 days out. This is why pricing becomes such an issue on some sailings.

We booked the day before on Carnival. Carnival waived the 72 hour pre-booking. I guess they were desperate to fill the cruise. But I don't think we got a great rate. Seemed to be equivalent to what they were advertising in the last couple of weeks to departure.
