Carnival Destiny

Hello my fellow cruisers, I've cruised the Destiny a few times but not since it has been refurbished. I was wondering if they added a basketball court. I saw a layout of the ship showing a basketball court but I can't recall them having one. Thank you!!!

I got a new brochure and they don't show it yet if they have one. Alot of the older ships have a Volleyball/Basketball area aft where the jogging track is.

May I ask you a question?

Why did you pick one of the most active Hurricane weeks to go on a cruise? I am always curious about that. I used to do it too around second week of Sept. but got tired of the stress and was only Nassau. Put off till Oct.22 last year and still got re-routed via Wilma! Just curious, Thanks.

I've done 7 cruises and all have been on Sept 17, or the second week of October( 1 cruise). I guess I do it because I've never had a hurricane problem during my cruises, well except last Sept (17) our Disney cruise sailed the western itenarary instead of eastern due to hurricane. But western was the better itenarary, or I should say the more expensive of the two itenararies but it was very nice. "Oh" and how can I forget cost!!!!! Next year I will have to start sailing in August because my son will be in second grade then and I don't want to take him out of school for a week like I did in Pre-k, K.G. and soon to be first grade.

Oh and by the way IslandCruz the truth is I don't care where my cruise reroute to as long as we don't go to Canada,,, nothing against Canada but I love the hot weather when I cruise. Other than that all I know is i'm on a cruise and away form my job. Have a safe and happy cruise all!!!!

Hey Deege, Makes sense to me is why I always did it. And Mainly was the cost savings too. I live on the coast in SC and drive down through GA and FL. So I started getting a little concerned about being caught up in an evacuation situation, plus leaving my condo un-attended..is on a salt marsh 3 blocks from the beach. Last year we did not know where we were going untill 8pm the night before. It all worked out well ended up going eastern. Always interesting to see why people do things like I do
