I've cruised RCL several times and NCL once. Neither refer to a Supper Club (that i recall).

Is this a Carnival thing and what is it all about? I'm sailing on the Carnival Victory in March, 2009, and don't see references to special pay restaurants or such.

Bill- The Supper Club is the equivalent to RCL's "Chops" restaurant. Its an extra charge 5 Star restaurant. On CCL they are all called The Supper Club even though the restaurant itself has a name. I don't believe the Victory has a Supper Club, as they didn't start putting them on the ships until the next larger class of ships.

The Supper Clubs are extra-fee restaurants. Many other cruise lines have their own versions, but it generally means you have to make reservations and pay a cover charge in the $15-$30 range. For that you get an "upscale" meal with prime steaks, etc.

Now that I've said all that, the supper clubs are not on all ships. The Victory doesn't have one.

Jim, Dave,

Thanks for the speedy response and information. I was on the NCL Spirit and it had about three of those. The RCL Explorer of the Seas had an italian version.

Thanks again.

Bill-On older ships the Supper Club is a large stick the chef uses to tenderize the steaks!
