I'm 30something and am considering taking my mom (senior citizen) on a 3 day carnival cruise in March. Has anyone cruised during this time of year? Will the whole boat be packed with college kids? Would we be totally out of place?

Thanks for any advice!

Jana, although I don't think the ship will be overrun by college kids, March does tend to have a lot of college students who are on spring break aboard. But I'm sure there will be other non-collegiates onboard as well. There will also be a lot of families and young marrieds. Three night cruises on Carnival at any time of year are usually....lively.

You may want to also look at a 3-night cruise on Royal Caribbean, which attracts a slightly more sedate crowd, or a 4-night cruise on Celebrity.

Jana,
We took our three kids, kids godmother and 2 teenagers on Carnival Glory last year 2nd week in March. It was Pretty Over run with College kids. There were two or three entire sorority and fraternities on board. There was alot of beer bonging by the pool and loud, sexual comments being slung around.
We had a balcony room but the kids shared a lower interior room with their godmother. Our floor was really nice and quiet but the lower floors always smelled like pot and were really loud. We actually had to bring the kids up with us some.
That is just honest observation but let me also had, we had a wonderful cruise. We learned which pool areas were not as overtaken with that college crowd, and tried to stay away from those lower cabin areas while they were partying. There was definitely more partying than on any Royal Carribean ship we've been on though.

Thanks for your replies. I think I'll try to avoid spring break, I had enough of frats and sororites when I was in college LOL
