Well, it's hard to say "rest of her class". She is going to outweigh her little sisters in the Conquest class by 3300 tons (which is not a whole lot when spread over close to 1000 feet). The Conquest ships have 1487 staterooms. Allowing 2 passengers per room, that gives them a passenger capacity of 2974. There will be 1503 staterooms on the Splendor with a passenger capacity of 3006. This will be the first ship with "spa staterooms", which are staterooms positioned for private entry into the spa and exclusive access to some of the nicest spa ammenities. Not to mention the spa itself will be a two story complex containing over 40,000 square feet of pampering!!! Wow!

tampataylors,

"Carnival Splendor" will be an identical sister ship (with a different funnel design, of course) of Costa Crociere's "Costa Concordia" and "Costa Serena":

This is yet another example of Carnival Corporation & plc using similar if not identical designs for several of its affiliates.

Thanks Raoul for posting the pic and info. Had only seen the drawing type pictures and some of the components being put together.

For a link to some of the ships features that the good Dr. described so well Click Here.

Looks like the Lido deck will really be different on the Splendor from other CCL ships. If it will be like Costa ships.

Is it just the angle or does that bow deck seem really short/small?

It's the old AMC Gremlin model, only they used it on the ship and in the front instead of the back.

Chef Ken,

it isn't shorter than the bows of the other "Destiny"- / "Conquest"-class vessels but you are right, it looks very short from this perspective.
