My wife and I are taking this cruise, and are looking for other people who are as well. We are 23, and this will be our first cruise together. My parents are going as well. Anyone else going?
We are on your cruise. We are in our 30's and are usually in the casino at night. Maybe I'll see you there!! I hope you enjoy your first cruise. I promise, you will be addicted!!! Let me know if you have any questions about the Conquest. This is our 2nd time on it.
I've sailed 2 cruises, Conquest in 2004 and Celebration in 1997. Other than the Conquest being a newer, prettier, larger boat - I actually enjoyed myself more on Celebration. In my opinion, the smaller boat actually catered to it's passengers more. It's more personable.....or maybe it was because it was my 1st cruise. What do you think? Can you tell me what you like the most about Conquest? The reason I'm asking, is because I won a cruise and I have to take it before May 2007. I can pick a ship that sails out of New Orleans, and the Conquest is one of my choices. Thanks!!!
Julie K do you ever use EZ Cruise Parking in Galveston, and if so, do I have to drop my party and luggage off at the pier ahead of time, or can I park with it and transport it?
Im not sure about EZ Parking. We always get a hotel the night before and leave our car there and get shuttled to the pier. From what I have heard, most drop off the luggage and other family members and then catch the shuttle back. If you read through these topics you may find a more clear answer. As far as ships go mommatee, I have been on the Elation and Conquest and both are nice. The Conquest has more to offer. They have balcony rooms, more dining options and is just over all a much bigger ship. I do not think the service is any different. I have enjoyed both ships and if I had to pick, I would definately go with the Super liner. Also, the COnquest sails out of Galveston and not New Orleans anymore. I hope this helps.
DJ EDDY - say it isn't so. Where are you going? The Conquest won't be the same without you at the Disco. Are you going back to Merry-ol-England, or does another Carnival cruise ship hold your fancy?
We would miss your smile, your laugh, and your wit. Oh don't leave us DJ Eddy when we need you. I gave you such glowing praise on my last comment card to Carnival!
I leave the big CQ on 22nd October, going home for 10 weeks then working on the Carnival Spirit on 10th January and then transfer to the Liberty in April/May. I shall certainly miss the CQ and all the people I have worked with over the last 6 months, but hey as we crewmembers say... that's shiplife!!!

I will be leaving on the Conquest 10/8. I will come by and say hello. I am assuming you will still be there. I was on the Conquest same time last year. Were you there?
DJ EDDY
Thanks for letting me know your agenda. I'll plan my next cruise around it!
Just to let you other cruisers know a little history about my last cruise and my encounter with DJ EDDY:
I was on the Conquest with my daughter September 10 - 17. On September 11, yes, September 11th! I was supposed to be celebrating my 22th wedding anniversary with my husband Martin. We had taken several Carnival cruises before. But I lost Martin August 4, 2004 in an airplane crash. He was a privite pilot. On August 4th he was a co-pilot that day for a test flight of some navigational equipment when something went terribly wrong.
Anyway, I was feeling pretty sad this September 11th. I was clutching pictures of Martin and myself from our last cruise, and some pictures from the crash site. Somehow, I ended up spending the evening with some of the delightful, off duty staff from Carnival, and we "toasted" Martin that night.
DJ Eddy was most wonderful telling me about his family and life in England. He told me about his life on the ship. Before you knew it, I was no longer sad, but I was happy and Martin was with me, in spirit if not in body, celebrating another fun time on Carnival.
I am so glad we took those cruise pictures every cruise. So don't feel "nickled and dimed" if you get a good picture. Because you never know when that might be your last picture together, or your last vacation together. Martin was only 44 when he died. We thought we had many more years together. We didn't.
