Dave Beers have actully been on the water taxi's in Nassau?
I don't comment on things I don't have experience with. I have been on terribly overloaded water taxis in Nassau.

But rather than dwell on this, the topic is Atlantis. It is probably the only redeeming thing I can find with Nassau, along with the adjacent beach.

Ok Dave, we'll just agree to disagree on the water taxi but will agree on Nassau. Other than Atlantis and the beach not much there. When were at the beach there were people selling drugs and selling alcholol without much discretion. If I was to go back to Nassau I would go to Atlantis and back to the ship. Of course I would have to stop at Starbucks on the way back to cool down.

I have been on the water taxi in Nassau...ONCE. on Feb 7, 2007. I remember it because it was the day Anna Nicole Smith died.
we got on the taxi because it was a new experience. we had been to Nassau the year before and wanted to do something a bit different so on the water taxi we got.
OH MY..they guided us to the lower section of this death trap...started filling it up with people, and more people and still more people, they kept telling us to slide together so they can get more people in, I was terrified. I should have followed my instincts and gotten off but I didnt want to cause a problem...When we finally left the dock area we were riding so low in the water I was afraid we would sink as we left...Never again will I put myself in a situation like that, or allow anyone that i can influence to board those death traps. It will happen, but certainly not with me on board .
I would never comment on anything that I didnt know personally...that would be so totally wrong. As wrong as questioning if I had ever been on the water taxi.

The best way to get to Atlantis is the $4.00 taxi cab route. It's faster, safer. We where going to take the water taxi. Then we saw the water taxi when in Nassau last month. They wait until the boat is full, really full. It gets very crowded, and the vendors seem interested in one thing, collect the US Dollars and cram tourists on the boats. Highly recommend a regular taxi cab on 4 wheels. We did not ride the water taxi, because we saw the massive overcrowding of passengers. It scared me to get on.

There are several options for exploring Atlantis. They vary greatly with pricing depending on what level of access to the resort is included.

If you only want to walk around Atlantis to see the property with limited aquarium views, or go in the casino the entrance cost is $0 as Penny noted.

Atlantis does offer a tour for cruise ship visitors. The details can be found here. This doesn't give access to the water park though.

The only way (to my knowledge) to get a pass for the water park area is to book a room or a nearby hotel they have partnered with that includes it as LHP mentioned. Or, buy a ship excursion that includes it.

Here is a link to the excursions Carnival offers for Nassau.

I don't believe luv2cruise meant any harm. She asked a legitimate question based on her experience with the water taxi being totally different than others. Consider how many people have bashed Carnival calling it a drunk party ship. When in fact; many of those people haven't even sailed on Carnival, or only sailed once way back in the seventies. Many of us know different though; that Carnival is a good cruise line. All any of us can do though is give our opinion, and individuls will have to make their own choices.
