I dug around on the Carnival website, and here's what I found... On the Holiday and Fantasy Class ships the heught restrictions is 48", this is because the landing area is a pool, and the safety margine was set by the mfg.

Now, the good news is on Destiny, Spirit and Conquest ships (whoo-hoo!!) the slide landing is a splashdown "trough" and the height is 42".

So, your little one is good-to-go.

Thanks for doing the digging, Marty. Obviously my memory was wrong! I guess I was thinking of the 48" for the older ships.

Tipping, you need to ask your travel agent if they made your reservations with prepaid gratuity. Either way you are still paying the $40 per day for tips. We always book prepaid gratuity so that much is all ready paid in advance. For all the service they provide the tips are reasonable. You can have your tips reduced at the pursors desk if you feel you weren't getting the service. But you are using the dining staff regardless of where you eat. Your cabin steward has more beds to make and more towels to exchange. The camp councelors are not even included in these tips. But they are paid more up front.

Carnival charges $40/day for a family of 4 for tipping. When I asked my travel agent if there were ANY other charges she said NO and gave me the price and tax for the cruise. I suppose there is not way our gratuities are included in that price??
Perhaps your travel agent answered no because the gratuities are personal and can be removed. Although we hope you will realize how hard the crew works and not remove them. Drinks, spa treaments, shore excursions, and pictures are all personal also. So when you asked your agent maybe she interpreted your question as the fixed cost of the cruise, port fees and government taxes.

Oh my gosh-THANKS to everyone taking the time to answer my questions! We are so excited to take a cruise!

Yes I'm sure they get paid nothing and work for tips but I am upset that my travel agent/friend neighbor would not tell us about this! I just had no idea but totally understand the logic!
We are usually huge tippers for good service but wish I would have known up front! But that's my problem

GREAT News on the height requirement! Looks like he just squeaks by!!
Thanks so much!!!
