I have just booked stateroom 2221 a Cat. 5A cabin on the Victory-Has anyone had this cabin in the past-it is far forward and has 2 porthole windows-Any experience with being forward??
Sorry.. We have been on the Victory.. she's a great ship, but have never been in one of those cabins. Curious now as to how the cabin categories work. I wouldn't think a far forward deck 2 cabin would get a 5A rating. Unless it is bigger than a normal cabin. Oh well. You will have fun I'm sure

As stated the Victory is a very nice ship. The 5a is the rating given to the forward cabins with two port holes, regardless if it is on deck 1 or deck 2. I have not stayed in a 5a, but have stayed many times in the forward section of ships. I personally didn't notice any difference. Of course, every cruise is different depending on the weather and size of the waves.
I'll be on the same deck, same ship in a few weeks, so I'm happy to look at it. I'm one of those who checks out cabins on disembarkation day after everyone has, well, checked out.
Lisa-Thank You,Please advise as to the cabin! Also check on the cabin just forward of it-it is listed as a 1A inside yet my research indicates it is a single porthole, non converting twin bed setup-it may turn out to be a true cruising bargain!
Billybuzzy
Billybuzzy, we are just back from Carnival Victory and I had a chance to check out one of the two staterooms.
Stateroom 2221 looked exactly like our 6B that was located on the same deck, except that it had two portholes. It appeared to be the same size as our cabin, and had the same layout.
I didn't get a chance to see 2217 as the door was closed every time I went by. Same goes for 2216 on the other side, and most of the cabins forward of them. But I did look at 2211, directly in front of it. It had a single bed, sofabed, and two portholes.
Lisa-Welcome Back!! Thanks for the update, I would love to see the photos-and I am pleased to learn that size wise the Cat. 5A stateroom is full sized! Was 2211 smaller in size-that one is a Cat.1A-listed as an Inside Cabin-for reasons not understood by me???-
Hope you had a great cruise-nice to see your back on line!
