I've read the reviews here for a long time. They've been such a big help! We went on the Carnival Valor in May '06 out of Miami, Fl and absolutely loved it. The ship was beautiful--very colorful, we thought. We're still talking about our wonderful servers in the dining room, Julia and Pande! They made our dining a true experience!
Now, we're heading to San Diego on Oct. 1 (ps: we're retired young in our 50's) and will finish our trip with a cruise to Baja Cal. on the Carnival Elation on Oct. 13. I'm so excited. I need to know what people wear in Cabo or Ensenada in Oct. Also, any other advice or information about the Elation will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
I can't help on the dress, since we were there in March....but we sailed from Long Beach.
It was cool the day we sailed and cool the day we returned (this was a 7 day on the Pride).
However, we love the Fantasy class ships. While not as big as the Valor, I think they are a good size without being to small.
There will be a pizza place, deli and bar across the back of Lido and some small outdoor eating areas out the back door...which makes a nice little spot to have breakfast.
We have found Carnival to be fairly consistant in their food and service from ship to ship...so hopefully the Elation will be just as good in those areas as the Valor was.
Hello, I sailed on this trip last October. I found the weather in San Diego and Ensenada to be quite cool. There was a strong cool breeze in Ensenada when we arrived, but it warmed up quit quickly. When we arrived back in San Diego the weather was warm.
Cabo was sunny and very warm. The water in the pool was very cold until we reached Cabo. On our first sea day, I went down the water slide and thought "this is going to hurt when I hit the pool". I don’t think I ever flew out of the pool so fast in my life. Once in Cabo where the ocean is quite warm, there was no problem - the pool was very nice.
Been on the Elation twice. One 5 day and one 7 day. Both cruises were great !! Had very good service and very good food and no complaints about the ship at all. It is a great ship.
Hope this helps
Mike
I bet you were wishing it was sunny the last few days. Hope you didn't get any flooding. Haven't been to Cabo yet. I have cruised on the Elation, and thought the service was excellent in every department.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, we've had rain, rain, and more rain here in SW Fl for days now. Glad to hear the details about the Elation! I can't wait to get to California and on that ship!
Hey ya Sunny.. ..Whadda know! I'm also booked on the Elation's Mexican Cruise on Oct 13th!
Glad you started this thread! I hope you get all your questions answered..if you don't, how's about we meet in the lounge on the first night and I'll my buy ya a drink and we can talk about it?
