We were on the 2/18 sailing, room 7208, great balcony room. So incredible to wake up on Friday and look out the window at the rock formations in Cabo. A million dollar view.
We did Sea Life Park in PV--the wife swam w/the dolphins which was a huge high for her. My 16 yr old son and I had a blast just going down the waterslides there. Mazatlan was a good place for us to just hang out by several hotel pools (without being hassled at any of them to pay or buy drinks) and walk the long beach. Cabo, we ate lunch at The Office and chilled out at the beach, did a little shopping. Not much time to do excursions there.
Weather was awesome in all 3 ports. Too cold to get any sun on the ship the first day down, good day to explore the ship. Same on Sat coming back....best place to get sun without wind on the last day is as close to the aft bar by the adults only pool. Otherwise, very windy. We took seasick pills on the last day/night, they worked just fine. Handed some out to some people with green faces too....! Everybody is different, we were fine after taking the magic pills.
Lots of kids on board, but pretty well behaved. Got a kick out of seeing all the huge families on board, especially at picture taking time.
Our waiter was Erol. Funny guy, first thing he said was he was from "bigger than a chicken" (Turkey). Natalia was his "helper" and worked a little harder than he did, but we loved them both. The cocktail waitress, Mu (actually MuMu, but they forgot the second Mu on her nametag) was so sweet...she has a 15 month old kid at home and misses him so much, you can imagine. She's so nice, you'll see her in the Starry Nights lounge during Karoke too. We saw the captain in his little speedo's one day--he was over at the Krystal Hotel in PV taking a swim.
Jeff the cruise director is kinda goofy, but liked him--it's a tough job and I think he did okay. He's got to appeal to the young and old and I think he did a good job of walking that line. Karl with a "K" was good too, he made me chuckle a few times.
If anyone was at the second show of "Hanky Panky" with the ventriloquist, I was the unfortunate sole that got dragged up onstage and made a fool of (Pete).....but what the hell, you only live once and I'll never see any of you again! All in good fun..... I was an instant semi-celebrity though, with everyone saying hello to me the rest of the trip!
Nothing negative to say about the trip--everything was incredible. The food is outstanding (banana pancakes in the morning are SO GOOD!)(and the warm chocolate melting cake.....well, suffice to say, everyone was right, it was EXCELLENT....I had it almost every night). The staff is great, everyone was so positive and friendly. The ship is clean, lots of things to do. I won $100 at bingo, so that's fun too!
Love the showers in the rooms, the reggae band on the pool deck, the cocktails, the funny contests, the quarter-raking machine in the casino, air hockey in the arcade, Lloyd the guitar player in the main bar center ship, the food in David's Supper Club.....I could go on and on.
Wish I was still on the ship. Sad part is, it will become a distant memory at some point. Great experience, have fun to all of you who are going soon!
Sounds like you had a really wonderful cruise experience; I'm very happy for you; and thank you for the great review.
I wouldn't worry too much about it becoming a distant memory; I sometimes relive cruises of 20-30 years ago like they were yesterday.
And the best news of all is, you get to do it again anytime you want!
Welcome back to reality. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. To make it easier, start booking and planning your next cruise!! Thank you for the wonderful report.
