Carnival Triumph 08/25-09/01

Hi All!

Is anyone going on the Carnival Triumph 08/25? If so, what kind of excursions do you have planned for each port. This will be our 1st time to each one. Any suggestions you have would be great.

Well be stopping in Half Moon Cay, St Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk.

Sorry not going on TRIUMPH on Aug.1, but going on October 13. Same places though.
On Half Moon Cay it looks like just a very small place for a day at the beach. So you can just go ashore and do whatever you like.
On St. Thomas, if you like to snorkle, either Megans' Bay or the St.John trip sounds good.
We have been to St. Thomas so I am booking for the St. John trip.

All 4 ports will be new to me and my family.

From what I have read on other threads and review sites Half Moon Cay is a very small private island owned by CCL's parent company. Since CCL owns the island there is really no shopping around for shore excursions beacuse they're the only game in town and prices are the same whether you purchase from the shore excursions desk on the ship or on the island. The best thing I heard is the free buffet provided by the ships personel!

So far, I booked a day tour on St Thomas that includes shopping, sightseeing, and time at any beach of our choice. I booked it on my own and saved BIG! CCL's similar tours dont even include all three activities and are upto twice as much money. I did read a lot of reviews the St Johns Trunk Bay tour saying it was really good. Next time we will probably do that one.

In San Juan I tried to book a 1/2 day catamaran sail but we were too tight on time. So now I'm looking into a couple of jet ski tours offered by local companys.

As for Grand Turk, I booked a tour to Gibbs Cay with a local company for less than CCL was offering and lasts twice as long.
