I'm sure they just couldn't understand why the ship wouldn't pull back to the pier! Sort of like the airlines pulling away from the gate.

we have always returned to the ship with plenty of time to spare. But some people like to push it to the limit, and are braver then I am. I take the departure time very seriously. I think they honestly think the ship will wait for them and they learn the hard way that 4pm departure means 4 pm.

That was almost me last year on Roatan! Never again will I cut it that close. The person that did the second dive and made us late will be like a scene from "Open Water" for her when she comes up. I'll leave a note..."We went back to the ship on time".
