We were on Celebration in 2001. It was a fun ship. I'm sure it's had some work done since then. Most do every few years.

Hi We were on the Celebration in April.
Here are the good points...Some of the shows, drinks,food,our room was nice,employees,Bahamas.
Bad points...small pool filled with kids always,I wasn't pleased about the automatic tip they added to our bill, understand it is $10 a day per person which added up to well over 20%. Considering 20% is the norm WTH? Days at seas were pretty boring.
The ship was a smaller ship and people have said that a larger ship would be better. All in all this cruise didn't scare us off of cruises. Any specific ??? let me know.

1. I would be interested to know if you have any kids that traveled with you and if so, did they enjoy it.
2. Did you not participate in any on board activities during days at sea?
3. Tip 20% of what? Couldn’t be total cruise cost.
4. What shows would you recommend/not recommend and why?
5. Did you happen to find a secret door? (Just kidding)

joergr, It is true the Celebration and the Holiday are the smallest and oldest ships in the fleet. If you have been on the bigger ships you will notice it. It does not even have an atrium. I still enjoyed it as I knew all of this ahead of time so was not dissapointed.

It is weird but I have been on both the Celebration and the Holiday and for them to be the same..they don't feel the same to me.

If was priced right I would go again as I can drive. But I would not seek it out personally as my vacation cruise if I had to fly. Just an honest opinion.

cyclones, Hi, Yes I have a specific question..Did they open the aft lido bar? That is where I enjoyed hanging out on the Hoilday, but it was closed on Celebration in 04.

On the tip issue, you can adjust the tips, but I think they are fair. I even tip extra to some. But on the 20% thing, it is not based on a percent at all. You would have had to cruised for $50 a day including all taxes for it to equal 20%.

Not saying you didn't cruise that cheap, it is possible to get those deals. Thanks in advance for a reply about the aft lido bar. Have some friends going soon and was curious.

My wife and I went on the Celebration in Mar 06. It was our first cruise and my wife wanted to just do a 4 day in case she didnt like it. We liked it enough that in July, my wife and I took the whole family on the Miracle. The food i thought was better on the Celebration than on the Miracle. The only downside of the cruise was Freeport. Nassau was a great time.

I DO KNOW IT IS A SMALER SHIP BUT THAT IS NICE TO RELAX ON UNLIKE THE VERY BIG ONES I HAVE BEEN ON WERE YOU ARE ALLWAYS ON THE MOVE.
BUT THE BIG ONES ARE STILL NICE IT JUST DAPPENDS ON WHAT KIND OF MOOD YOU ARE IN!!!!
