We went the cash option, and we were not told when we got low. On the last night, we got a note saying that we owed $$$. So, the card was not cut off or anything.
I realized that I had spent more money then I planned, and I had it with me. But, I keep up with what I spent. I dont know what would happen if you didn't have the money.
Maybe off to jail for you.

Very interesting thought. They usually call people to the purser's desk when they have an issue, or cut off the card. But not always. My S&S was cut off once and they didn't tell me. In fact the bartender told me, and said it had been cut off for two days, but he kept charging on it anyway. That was a credit card issue though.

I am just guessing they could technically have the authorities waiting at the pier. It would be no different than walking out on a check at a bar or restaurant. I am sure they would give someone every option to settle their account first. Have never heard of it happening though.
