Internet Pricing

I was wanting to know what the price was for using the internet on the ship? Do they have any packages you can purchase? Thanks for your help.

Since Carnival has ruined their website and links are no longer possible in many cases, I'll post their information in truncated form to make it legal:

• An initial one time activation fee of $3.95 applies to each user.

• A basic time charge is $0.75 per minute

For Short Cruises (less than 6 days) packages cost:

o 30 minutes for $16.50 ($0.55 per minute)
o 60 minutes for $24.00 ($0.40 per minute

For Long Cruises (6 days and longer) the package prices are:

o 100 minutes for $55.00 ($0.55 per minute)
o 250 minutes for $100.00 ($0.40 per minute)

Printing is available at $0.50 per page.

I think all of those packages are available on 7 night or longer cruises.

And to add to what Dave posted, on the last 3 cruises I have been on they have had a "first day special" where if you buy a 100 minute package they gave you free minutes (I think it was 50 minutes free but I can't remember for sure.) So if you think you will want to use it a lot (for emailing home or keeping in touch or gasp... working) then check in the cafe' the first day and see if they are running a special.

Thanks Dave and Jim. I had originally made plans not to even go near the internet on vacation, but I am missing one week of school so I have to keep in touch atleast twice that week along with keeping in touch with family. Is it open 24 hours or only certain times?

The internet cafe is open 24 hours although they end it early in the morning on debarkation day. Same for wi-fi hotspots on the ship. However there are often times when it is down because they can't get a satellite connection. This is especially true on cruises which go far north such as to Alaska.

FYI, the internet was shut down at 11:00 p.m. the last night of the cruise. They do not post this and if you are planning on checking your flight status that morning, you won't be able to. We had saved some of our minutes for this purpose to end up losing them. Not a big deal if you know in advance.
