1st Cruise and im going Celebration

Hey everyone. Hubby and I are going on our 1st vacation since our daughter has been born. Its his 2nd time cruising, my first. We are going 4day freeport and nassau through jacksonville on Carnival's Celebration. I am just wondering if anyone has opinions about this ship or destination. I am hoping to have some fun but also relax. Thanks for any advice/opinions.

Hello and welcome to cruise-chat!

I am quite fond of the Holiday, which is essentially identical to the Celebration. These are Carnival's oldest ships, so don't expect all the high-tech stuff you read about on the newest cruise ships. But the Celebration offers a great cruise experience - good food, and a ship that is easy to get around on. It is fun, pure and simple, and what cruising used to be like years ago.

Frankly I am not a fan of Freeport. It doesn't have much to interest me. Nassau is better.

Since is your first time, you will think this is a big ship. And it was in Her day. It is a great way to start cruising! It is a short inexpensive cruise and a way to get addicted!

Do go off and visit Freeport, take a shore excursion or taxi over to the casinos and shopping. You will at least can say "been there done that". Learn how to ignore, and you won't come back with your hair braided.

Nassau is great. Tons of excursion options. Or take a LAND taxi over to the beach at Atlantis. Also, Blue Lagoon is not to be missed by any first time cruiser if they offer it.
