How safe are the safes in the stateroom

Just wondering if the safes are secure or does the cabin steward have access

I don't know if they have access, I doubt it..but we kept all our cash, our credit cards and documents in ours and nothing was touched. i even inadvertently left these things out the first evening when we went to dinner, forgetting they turn down the beds and nothing was touched.

I saw, that the ships have a special crew member with an electronic equipment, to open a safe, when a passenger forgot the code.

I´m sure, that the cabin stewards have no acces to this equipment.

Most of the safes in the cabins are locked with your credit card, or you set up the passcode when you board the ship. Some of the older ships have keys, but most are going to electronic locks now.
