Kids will be kids...I have found that on our cruises, the "children" misbehaving are of drinking age.
We're taking our daughters on a cruise next month for the first time. We have taken cruises without our children for years and decided to let them enjoy one. Their fun will be Camp Carnival and ours will be the casino. We figure that the girls being with us will save us money in the long run...less casino time. Might even get more sleep.

You've got it, Dave!
The'll put in a few amenities, name it "the Sanctuary", or "The Retreat", or "The Hideaway". or some such nosense, and then charge you $15.00 for a half-day of peace and quiet.
Actually I was alluding to Princess;
I think it's the ultimate irony that they have created such a ruckus on deck, especially now with the "Movies Under the Stars", which run during the day too, that they can charge for a little quiet time.
Just came off an 8 day on the Legend and I can confirm that they have removed all signs that established the topless deck. They have added many more chairs and now have it reserved for adults over the age of 21. From what i saw this does not mean you cannot go topless. To me it just made Carnival less responsible for keeping ones privacy. There are no longer signs that say no cameras yet they are still topless !!
I was just on the Feb 12th sailing on the Carnival Legend and there was a topless deck. So unless they did away with the topless deck this past month it still exists on the Legend. I'm not sure what they could do with the space as it is isolated from the rest of the ship. Would make a great "adult only" area but too small to service the number of guests that would want to take advantage of "camp carnival" for the adults.

I agree with the above post. an adult only area inplace of the topless deck. I dont care if it's topless or not just a place to go to get away from the kids.
And there is a good point mentioned above about the Camp Carnival as well. would those kids want us old fogies crashing their party?
CARNIVAL we need a place to get away from the kids. its bad enough I cant even enjoy the pool without seeing push off matches on the wooden divider between the shallow and deep end. unsupervised kids are all over the place running around. Ive even seen them Cannonballing into the Hot tub. I thought that hot tubs were not healthy for people under the age of 14?...
I completely agree w/Mr.October, there needs to be a kid-free zone. I went up there out of curiosity to see if there were really topless people (none). But that really doesn't matter, it's the idea that there is a place you can get away from children and just relax in peace.

The topless decks were removed effective with the first cruise a ship commenced after 2/21/07 - so the new rule cascaded through the fleet and it is now in place on all Carnival ships.
When we were on the Glory in Jan. the CD-Dana, stated many of the ships would be getting miniature golf courses over the next few years. I don't get the appeal either. Hopefully, this won't result in golf balls flying off the top deck onto unsupecting sun bathers below!
