Do the cabin room TV's have DVD players or jacks where you could hook up a portable DVD player?

The only rooms I have seen DVD players in are the suites and only some of them.

Most of the TVs will have jacks to plug in your own player.

Suite V22 on the Elation, 3/8/07, had a VCR. I didn't really check for the jacks, but I would assume that the TV or VCR would have some place to plug in a portable player.

On my last voyage, I plugged my camcorder in via RCA jacks on the front of the TV to edit. Worked great.

Our suite on the Holiday had a combination DVD/VCR player, but the regular cabins do not.

That being said, you can bring your own portable DVD player and plug it in to the TV in any cabin below mini-suite.

I took my portable player and a few favorite DVD's on my last two cruises and never used it--too much else going on. Even the in-room movie selection was really good. Just F.Y.I.

Good point! Didn't think about that since my last two cruises (not to rub it in) were out of Los Angeles.

I am glad for you but I am content in fly-over country for now.

As you know, airline travel is not even close to what it was in the past. We wore suits when we flew and we were just kids. I remember a flight from JFK to Rio on Pan Am where we were served NY Strip, baked potato etc. on real plates with real flatware, a full wedge of apple pie and a ceramic cup full of coffee.

To where will you be flying for your HAL cruise?
