We have balcony cabins 6456 and 6450 on the Conquest Nov 26th. Can we open and close the divider as we choose? We will want visiting time and quiet personal time.

Sadie,
I am almost certain the answer is no. Interesting thinking http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif |
unfortunatly the deck plans show your 2 rooms are 2 rooms apart from each other. The balcony dividers can be unlocked, and Carnival often opens all the dividers on an entire deck to quickly clean the entrire deck when they are turning the ship around for the next cruise.
If you had 2 staterooms right beside each other, than you could ask for permission to unlock the divider and have an extra long balcony for your 2 parties, but this cannot be done if your are separated by other guests between you. |
PC Guy is correct here. If you had side by side, the cabin steward could lock the divider in the "open" position. But you could not open and close it as you choose and since you have other passengers in between your cabin, I doubt you could get the to all agree to have the dividers open (since then somone could walk right into their cabin from the baclony or walk by and look in..

If the cabins are adjoining...it is easy to open the dividers. We had four suites in a row on Princess and opened them for "happy hour" and then closed them for late night and morning..

What a dummy, I typed the wrong cabin numberes. They are 6442 and 6450. These will be the the kids and spouses. Lloyd and I have room 6456. And thank you so much for all the help. This will be great fun for them and then they can have their privacy too.

my kids and I have connecting balconies and I would definitely like to have the divider between the rooms open. Leaving the door and dividers open will give us the feel of being almost in the same room. I can not wait to try these new rooms and new experience!

As a reference to my last posting, then that is different. You have 2 rooms together with the same party travelling together.
You will not be able to unlock the divider - they require a key, but it should not be a problem to get the cabin steward to unlock them. |
Hint !!!
A waiter\'s wine key works splendidly on the "locks" on the balcony dividers. Been there..done that. F S F |
and what is a wine key? http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_confused.gif
