They do take just a DL and Birth Certificate dont they?

For now, yes you can do a drivers license and birth certificate. But if you are going to do any more cruising in the future, get a passport! It's a bit of a hassle but they're good for 10 years and they make it so much easier. And starting next year, they will be required. Granted, they've put this deadline off a few times but it IS going to happen eventually.

One more suggestion for you;
If you are married, we were told to bring along a copy of our marriage license as well. Because your birth certificate Amy will have your maiden name on it. This is only needed if you are married, and your name has changed!

Not to make anyone nervous, but I know of a group that missed a Princess departure out of Ft Lauderdale,due to the airline. The airline made arrangements to fly them to St Maarten at no cost to meet the ship and join the cruise. The one person that only had DL and BC could not go because a passport is necessary for flights. Even though the travel insurance reimbursed for cruise and incurred expenses, not having a passport kept this one guy from enjoying the rest of a cruise. His friends waved bye to him as they boarded the plane to St Maarten.

Well I tell you that is pretty scary and it would make me nervous knowing that, fortuate for me I have a passport now.

Yes it does, but in this case it was really funny because nothing ever goes right for this person when it comes to traveling!

It was nice while it lasted but now it's kind of dumb to travel without passport. That reminds me, I better get mine renewed!!

tn, probably best if you don't ever get in a plane with him either since he doesn't have a great track record ! lol. The trip just wasn't meant to be for him.
