To all who have cruised at the beginning of January before

Hi all.
We just came back from a wonderful vacation on the Fascination. I know its close to Christmas and I love Christmas but during the whole cruise there was mainly Christmas music being played. I was hoping to hear more of the party (regae) type music to feel like I was away.

Anyway, we are planning another cruise but this time we would like to go at the beginning of January, 2007 and I was wondering if there was anyone who has gone at the beginning of January and if they take down the decorations and play the fun, party music again or do they still play Christmas tunes??

I would truly appreciate it.

I've cruised twice in January (beginning of January as well) and noted the Christmas theme was completely gone. This was on both Carnival and Princess.

I've found January is a terrific time to go as the weather is generally nice (usual for Caribbean), the crowds are slightly less than Feb/Mar and the prices seem lower. Also less chance of a kid-filled cruise which we prefer to avoid.

We've got one on our radar for Jan 07 as well actually.
