Do you get the first day's carnival caper with your cruise documents in advance or upon boarding the ship?
thanks
Linda

On Princess it is in the cabin on arrival; I would imagine it's the same for Carnival.

But then I have no personal experience and without that, I really shouldn't be offering an opinion.

I don't know of any cruise line which sends out the first daily schedule with the cruise docs.

Your first day Carnival Capers will be in your cabin. Additionally, they will have them at the guest relations desk and in holders spread around the ship - often at bars. We always grab a couple extra each day, so we each have one and we also have one for our collection.

Carnival seems pretty friendly, Rick. I'm sure their corporate spokesperson would be happy to have someone of your vast experience comment.

Okay Dave, for the record, what are the names of all the cruise lines daily tabloids?

I can only speak of the lines on which we've cruised: Carnival Capers; Princess Patter; Cruise Compass (RCCL); Celebrity just calls theirs "the daily"; NCL...they've changed the name since we last sailed with them, I think it is the Freestyle or something like that; HAL also just calls theirs the "daily program".

They're all more uplifting reading than your local paper. I can't stand to pick up the good 'ol Houston Barnacle anymore. Wifey still gets it for ads and coupons.

NCL = Freestyle Daily.

On all ships, the daily programs are also available in languages other than English. I was studying French last year, and enjoyed reading a few of the French-language programs.

I get an extra one as Dave said to collect. Someone suggested taking a hi-lighter with you a while back to mark activites you are interested in. I found it useful, they have things going on all the time and it is easy to forget or get distracted.

Dave as always is 100% right. You will get your first CARNIVAL CAPER in your room when you board. Not anything that earth shattering in it...except what the show is for that night.

And by the way, thanks Dave for the info on the other cruise tickers. As you can see, mine is working great. I'll wave as I drive by Wednesday!
