Hi, Everyone. I will be taking my first cruise in October on the Carnival Liberty's Western Carib. I am very excited.

I have a question about the dress code for dinner? My party will be signing up for the late dining. I know shorts are not permitted in the dining area. What about jeans? Can jeans be worn in the dining room?

Thank you in advance. :-)

Welcome GenCan. Funny you should mention Jeans in the dining room. There were some lengthy conversations regarding Jeans. If you go to the "find" section and type in "jeans", I'm sure you will find many different answers to your question.

Let me give you my 2 cents worth. By all means, you may wear jeans in the dining room!!"

Welcome again and have a wonderful cruise!!!!

Thanks, CarlG. That really helped alot.

I noticed you are an experienced cruiser. Have you traveled this particuliar cruise. Carnivel Liberty's 8 days Western Carib? If so, any suggestions on excursions? I like the Panama Canal tour, "High There"- zip line, and Mayan Ruins exploration.

GenCan. I have not traveled this particular ship. I have done the Western Caribbean several times though. There are many Carnival experts that will be able to help you out though. What are the islands you will be going to? Also, what do you like to do? Snorkel, shop, land tours etc. Again, many, many of the folks here can provide you firsthand information!

CarlG:
The Ports are Costa Rica, Costa Maya and Panama.
I would be willing to try any of the activities.
No preference.

Well, of all those ports, I have only been to Costa Maya. We did snorkeling and Horseback riding from a place called Tequilla Beach, which is a short taxi ride from the pier to a town called Majuhaul, a little fishing village. The horseback riding was great and the snorkeling wasn't half bad actually. You can buy beach passes that can get you an open bar, and/or food as well, depending on which "beach pass" you buy. There isn't much at the Costa Maya port itself, its sole existence is to service the cruise ships that arrive there. Hope this helps.

But Andrea, it's so much mure fun to read the debate and we get to find out what type of gown and pumps Goin' Cruzin' will be wearing on his next cruise.

Cheers, Neil
