My husband and I are going on a cruise for the 1st time. Any suggestions what to take, not to take. We are going to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Any suggestions about things to do on these islands?

There is a lot to do in Grand Cayman. Seven mile beach, the turtle farm, and swimming with the stingrays.
I just posted to the Carnival thread "Drinks on Conquest" look there for some tips I just posted for another first timer.
Have fun.

dmw,

"The" tour to do in Grand Cayman is the Stingray City (or Stingray Sandbar for those not wanting to snorkel) tour.

As for Cozumel, it depends on when you are going on your cruise when it comes to the rites of passage rendered at Carlos 'n Charlies. This bar was destroyed by Hurricane Wilma, along with the adjacent Senor Frogs. They still haven't gotten back in business and it may be many more months. Cozumel does offer many fine snorkel tours though, and you can also have a fine time with the Tulum ruins tour. Cozumel is my favorite Caribbean port. The people are so nice and helpful. The people in Grand Cayman are also polite, but perhaps more reserved. British colony at one time, you know!

I would recommend swimming with the Stingrays on Grand Cayman. It was a lot of fun I plan on doing it again.

I also did the Tortuga Rum tour that included a visit to the turtle farm it was very interesting. We also made a stop at the rum plant and Hell.

Now when someone tells me to go to Hell I can say that I have been there

dmw,

If you mean the Mayan ruins horse excursion at your Cozumel stop, please note that some of the "ruins" are reproductions.

Tom,

That is great news about Carlos 'n Charlies and Senor Frogs. I appreciate the updated news. I always try to spend some time there - although I like Senor Frogs a bit more.

I love Cozumel! Can't wait to get back there this coming June.
