If I have traveled with Carnival before and have a past guest number how do I get discounts when I book another cruise with them and how much is it usually? Thanks.

toniandersson - If you speak with your PVP, they will take your number and help you with booking. You can also book online with your Past Guest number.
Hope this helps

Not every sailing will offer a past guest discount. If one is offered have them compare it against all other offers to make sure it is the lowest.

For past guest, you get the best discounts if you get on their email list (ask your PVP) and they will send you specials when they come along. They will also notify you of Past Guest Sales days... If you can cruise non peak times, you can really get some good deals.

I got a better rate going with the FL residents rate than past guest for my last cruise. (1-28-07) Vacationstogo.com will also show past guest deals--there's a link in the left column for you to click on.

I have found the best rates to be in Jan/Feb & Sept-Nov for me, if anyone is aware of different times of year please fill us all in
Sovereign of the Seas, Royal Caribbean 11-17-03
Fascination, CCL 2-14-05
Fantasy, CCL 2-05-06
Elation, CCL 9-24-06
Carnival Victory, CCL 1-28-07
Sovereign of the Seas, Royal Caribbean, 9-24-07

I have to agree with all the posts.

Past Guest is a rate offered on certain sailings. It is not a discount that can be taken on any sailing. And is not a percent discount. The Resident Rate if offered will almost always be lower in the end.

I have been on Carnival 2 times. My second price was alot lower because it was hurricane season. (Sept) It was $1149 for a balcony room, we got it for $818pp.!!! We have booked another on Carnival out of NYC in May. The only discount they would give us this time, is we got the same price for a queen room, as the price of the 2 bunk room. Not a big deal though, we are using my neices time share price instead.
