If we take a 5 day cruise, Our tips are ten dollars for each day right? So that will be $100.00 in tips for my husband and I. Does that include room service too? If we prepay our tips, what else are we required to tip for?

You are not "required" to do anything else. However I alway tip for room service. I also give my serving team and room steward extra. If you consider the per day tips the waiting team and stewart gets it is not much for the service they give.

BTW here is the breakdown on where you money goes. http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Gratuities_Tips.aspx a pretty modest amount for the service you will receive.

Hi "P",

Cruise ships are like an hotel or service based industry. While the cruise lines won't tell you this, the better you tip, the better your service will be, especially with things like room service and bartenders.

On my last three cruises, I tipped my favorite bartender (cash from my hand to his) handsomely on the 6th day of a 7 day cruise and was well taken car of on the last night with many free drinks. It's worth it!

I tend to tip a little as I go. On our last cruise I was surprised, it did not look like very many people were tipping. I usually notice it especially on the last formal night, or the last night of the cruise.
