It all depends on how many cabins are sold. If you have a good PVP I think it makes a difference. I am very greatful that Carnival offers this program. It saved us about $500.00 on our last cruise, and that was just the 2 of us.I cannot say enough good about Carival the last few years they have really improved. Tom

When they offer the "Friends and Family" program take advantage of it. They once ran it most of the time on most of their sailings. In the past year or so it has been rarely offered. For a while the program was discontimued all together for all sailings. Glad to hear it's back and hope it stays this time for good.

Cheers, Neil

We will be taking our 5th next April (2008). Have been on one a year since 2003, but had to take last year off for medical reasons. Now I am looking to book our 2009 cruise. All our cruises have been on Royal Caribbean. We have thought about trying another cruise line but figure "if it ain't broke why fix it". We have not had any bad experiences.
We have done Eastern Caribbean, Bahamas, Alaska, and Southern Caribbean so far. In 2008 we are going to Western Caribbean. I'm not really that excited as I heard it wasn't that great. But the price was right for my son and his girlfriend so we booked it. Favorite so far was Southern Caribbean. Loved Barbados!

We've never tried RCL...mainly because Carnival offers such great military discounts (husband spent 23 yrs in the Navy but anyone can get the discount with only 2 years of service). So, with the great rates that Carnival offers we can take 2 cruises for every one that we could take on RCL.

We went on the W Caribbean cruise this past Feb...Belize, Panama & Costa Rica...we really enjoyed it!

Linda

I see you are Legend fans, us also. I hope that the Miricale is as good. The food and the service was great on the Legend, it is going to be hard to beat!We were sold on Celebrity for many years, and at thier prices they do not hold a candle to the Legend, much cleaner, and the quality of the food much better. We are not RCCL fans, it seems they have taken all the big party people, which Carnival used to be noted for!

We really enjoyed the superb service on Celebrity.....but, since we enjoy taking lots of cruises, Carnival can't be beat for the price! We're also looking at the Nov 7th cruise on the Miracle...St Lucia, St Kitts and St Maarten...our friends said that was a great cruise. We enjoyed the Legend tremendously and I'm sure the Miracle will be great also!

That is a great cruise. We did not care much for St. Lucia, but St. Kitts was nice, all new shops at the pier, very pretty island. St. Marten we have been to many times and we enjoy that. The service and food and everything about that cruise was very good.I got the military discount and it was about a $500.00 savings for the 2 of us.
