Just received a call from Carnival that on select sailings (our next cruise is one of them), military guests may book as many as 3 cabins at military rate. Just wanted to pass this on to those that may have friends wanting to go also!

Do you happen to know which of these cruises are included?

From the email I got several weeks ago, there were numerous sailings included. You can find out specifically from Carnival 800-819-3902.

On some cruises you may book as many as 6 cabins at the Military rate. I think it depends on how many cabins are sold at the time you book.I just recieved an E-mail yesterday from my personal cruise planner and some of the cruises were for mid May and I could get up to 6 cabins.

I was disappointed that the Sept cruises out of NY on the Miracle are no longer showing military rates. We booked an 8A with military discount but I was hoping we could get our friends' 2 cabins discounted when the "friends and family" deal came out.

I don't know how you booked. If you booked through a personal cruise planner at Carnival call them and tell them you want to add 2 more cabins. If they have cbins left it will be no problem at all.If you booked through a TA call them. If they can't help you call Carnival give them your booking# and geust# and i'm sure they will try to help you. Canival will need a copy of your DD-214. Tom

To add more cabins using the military rate is worth a call, but please don't get mad if they tell you that sailing only allows one military discount per reservation. Our next cruise was that way when we booked, but the PVP called when the additional cabin promotion for military was announced. It will all depend on the ship and sailing period, but definitely worth the call.

My PVP at Carnival told me a couple months ago to have them go ahead and book and if the "friends and family" deal came along, they'd be able to get the discounted military rate. Unfortuantely, the Sept sailings on the Miracle are no longer showing military rates so all that waiting for the "friends and family" deal did no good......

I received my email yesterday for the military friends and family special. We already were planning a cruise on the Nov 3 sailing on Glory for 8 cabins. 2 of us are military so that meant we could get a total of 6 rooms at a discount. I was quite pleased until I called Carnival and was told that on the Glory for Nov 3 we could only get inside cabins at that rate. Today I called Orbitz and they found we can get inside or Suites and nothing in between. Very dissapointing but we will keep our eyes open for further discounts or military specials till then in case it changes. Anyway, at least we will be getting a suite. With the discount it is cheaper than a balcony.
