Opinion On Best Cruise Needed...

Hello All...

I am making plans to take my wife on our second cruise. (First one was on the Conquest in 2003. Best time ever!) What I would like to know from any and all of you is this: In your opinion, what is the best cruise line, ship and itinerary that you have taken. While we are leaning towards Carnival again, we would be open to a different cruise line.

This question gets asked a lot in this forum. The answers tend to be the same with everyone chiming in with what their "favorite" cruise line is. But to be honest with you, it comes down to personal taste. You have already cruised Carnival on the Conquest and you seemed to have enjoyed it. (we lean toward Carnival because of the value we seem to get). I am looking at Royal Caribbean for our next cruise because of the advise I have gotten on this forum AND for the "something different" factor. Therefore our upcoming cruise is an NCL cruise and I am trying to figure out if I want to book an RCCL next summer, but I'm finding doing that will cost an addtional $1000. (To get on the Voyager class ships). But it boils down to what you are comfortable with. RCCL and CCL are probably the most popular with Families. Princess/Holland America and Celebrity are other choices. If you are interested in doing something different, try a different line.

Gemini, although the ship (Destiny) may be considered to be a slight bit old when compared to the Conquest I don't think any intinerary can compare. That will be the southern caribbean which includes, departing from San Juan, St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, Fun Day at Sea, Aruba, Fun Day at Sea, And the island of reality as you return back to San Juan and realize it's time to return back home to reality. Have a safe and fun cruise.

I would suggest one of Royal Caribbean's Voyager class ships. Kind of cool to watch an ice show in the Caribbean. I've been on 3 different cruise lines. I liked Carnival more than NCCL, but my favorite is RCCL. I haven't been on Princess yet, someday I'll have to try Princess.

Just so SonnyV knows I'm still kickin'. The best cruise I've had was on the Sea Princess. It was a 14 day Caribbean. The ship was immaculate, the service impeccable, and the food was wonderful. We've only been on NCL, RCCL, HAL, Carnival, Costa, and Princess. To me, Princess is the best. Of course, this is totally subjective. The experience of a cruise line is totally personal. The best advice is to speak with a cruise specialist that can match your needs with a cruise line. Best wishes on your search!
