Yippee!! I was so thrilled to see that thick envelope from Carnival in my mailbox! I have a question now: I read somewhere that the luggage tag ties break easily, and someone somewhere suggested using those plastic cable ties instead. Is that ok to do? It is a little over 30 days until my cruise and I am getting very excited, and so is my mom!

WOO HOO

You got yours exactly the same time I did about the dates, me 28th Sat, you 30th Mon.

If you are flying the strings can get teared off in transit. I use a heavy duty rubber ID with my name, address etc. Before you board the ship there will be a porter available to re-tag your luggage if you lost a tag before it goes on the ship. Has never happened to me, but I put on an extra rubber id on in case. Just make sure your name is on it, they will find you.

It is getting close fast now!

Best to you,
IslandCruz

Mr. O.

My friend, give it a few more days. I was surprised too about getting them so soon. If you are flying may be the reason.

Hey Sheri,
I was the one who suggested to use the heavy duty plastic zip ties for your cruise tags. We used them in May, and we were sure our tags would not come off. We saw several tags laying around the embarkation area, as the flimsy elastic had broken. We had our regular luggage tags on, but use the plastic ties for the cruise tags. You can get a package of 12 for about .99 at the dollar store or Wal-Mart. Glad you got your docs! Dance away.

Have a great time

Penny3333 is dancing AGAIN... sure does a lot of dancing....

Congrats on getting your tickets! Part of the fun of going on the cruise is seeing those in the mailbox.

As far as using the nylon ties to put the tags on, you could do that, but they tags are no stronger than the paper they are printed on. You can always get new tags at the dock it needed like was stated earlier. If you are truly worried about it, go ahead and use the ties. But after you write your info down, put a piece of clear packing tape on each side to "laminate" them and then punch the hole for the nylon tie. That will make them stronger.
