Yes, this is very appropriate.

However, you will see a wide range of dress from resort casual to cocktail wear.

My wife and I consider the dinning room evening meal special every night and dress appropriately.

It allows you to head straight to the Disco or club venues.

Against my better judgement to avoid controversy

I say YES. Dress nice for the Dining Room every night. On the Special Formal Nights put on the Suits/Tuxes and the Formal Gowns.

This thread was about if is Okay to dress up everynight, and not what you can get away with.

Save the flames for when I need someone to light my charcoal for the grill

Forgot to tell you, They take pictures all the time. But on the Special Dress Up Nights they will set up a place to have Formal pictures taken before you go to the Captain's Reception and Formal Dinner
