I want to dress up every night in cocktail dresses etc. Are there people dressed up every night in the main dining room?

I have seen people in varying states of dress in the dining room every evening. On nights other than formal, I have not seen gowns, but there are always a few women in dresses and men in sports coats. Shorts are not permitted in the dining rooms in the evening, though!

Hey! It's your vacation!! If you want to dress up, by all means, do so!!! HAVE FUN!!

Go for it Rhonda! My wife and I dressed up 2 nights, even though our 5 day cruise only required 1 night...and, the other 3 nights, she wore very nice pant suits that she could mix/match with black slacks. (That way, she could pack different tops to go with the black slacks.) I wore suit 2 nights, but nice button-down dress shirts the other nights (but no tie). I thought we looked nice as some of the other couples at our table were a little less dressy. BUT, we all had a great time at our table! Enoy.

One thing to keep in mind is""""PHOTOS""""" photos will be taken of you during your cruise, especially during dinner times so you may want to be dressed really nice for those photos. And be prepared to spend lots of cash for photos. And my personal opinion is that we should all dress nice for dinner every night. Thats something must of us don't get a chance to do on a regular basis.
Have a safe and fun cruise!!

Would button down shirt and slacks be considered nice enough for dinner? My husband does not want to over dress.

I agree with you on the dressing up for the photos comment, but the way you worded it, you make it sound like you have to buy the photos. You do not. You also do not have to take any photos on the Formal nights. You could even opt out of the rest of the photo taking, but they do try very hard to get you to take a picture.

Of course having said all of that, now I sound like I am against the photos. I'm not. I do think my wife buys too many of them (when the photo booth crew member knows you by name, you have bought too many)

MrsB, Yes, that would be fine for dinner. On formal night you may want to wear something special. On the formal night I wear a tux, but, I've also worn a dark suit. This is the night you'll take that special picture you might be hanging on a wall.

You will see everything on board. It's your cruise. I personally like dressing up as well. My hubby would be happy if they'd serve dinner in the room so he didn't have to dress and he could watch tv. Since we don't dress up very often, it makes me feel special. Have a wonderful cruise!!
