It's a long trip into the hills, it does make for a long tour. Our tour guide gave us a really good lesson on Jamaica's pirate history. Once at the estate, we got a tour of the distillary and then lunch (jerk chicken, yum). One of the estate representatives gave a run-down of all the spirits that Appelton produces, afterwards with a grin, he said "The bar is yours", and we got all the samples we wanted.
I sampled a lot...
We brought back plenty of booze too. I think the exchange rate was 55 Jamaican to 1 US. If you like rum, buy it right there. I think I only paid 4 or 5 dollars for a liter of Appleton 21 ($60-$80 here, if you can get it).
Ther ride back was nice and relaxing, soft reggae music on the CD player so we could sleep off our samples. Good thing, I sampled a lot
