Back from western Caribbean on the Freedom. Fantastic cruise! Great staff, great food, great dining friends, great entertainment! What more could one want? My only complaint is against Montezuma. He got his revenge when I returned home. Maybe the tequilla in Cozumel?

Welcome back Papa!

Glad you had a great cruise! Sorry to hear about the Montezuma though. I think those free tequila shots in those shops at Carnival's pier got to me once. They shouldn't put those signs up that say "Come in for a free shot"! Then again, it doesn't mean I should have went in every store that had a sign.

Hope you are feeling better, and thanks for this report.

Papa55,

I have some friends cruising the Freedom soon. Who was the cruise director?

Hi Cruise Dad,
The cruise director was Felipe Couto. He was good although there were times I had trouble understanding him. Again, it could have been the tequilla! The shows were fantastic. My favorite being The Big Easy. Wow! Incredible performance! Ticket to Ride was very good also.
Your friends will love it!

You are welcome, Billy.
You must take the Behind The Fun tour. They take you all over the ship to places most people never see! We even went to the bridge and had our picture taken with the captain!

Welcome back papa55 Sounds like a fantastic time until you met Montezuma. Hope you two have parted company by now! Sure hope you had the chocolate melting cake at least once Did you like the layout of the Freedom? What was your favorite spot on board? Did you book another cruise on board? I'm anxiously awaiting our Valor cruise!

Hi Penny,
Indeed we had the chocolate melting cake several times! The recipe was included in the Behind the Fun tour.
Monetezuma has retreated to Mexico probably in search of another gringo!
We found the Freedom to be very easy to get around. We really enjoyed the Serenity Deck. No kids, bar on deck, and 85 degree warmth! Oh yeah!
I did not dine in the Sun King Restaurant, but I wished I had. It was part of the ships tour. They use only prime cuts. People I talked to said the steaks melted in your mouth!
I have not cruised on the Valor, but I know it's the same class as the Freedom. A friend told me their specialty restarant was the finest he had seen.
I did not book another cruise on the ship, but I did buy a $100 certificate that I can use on a future cruise, and Carnival will give me $100 in onboard credit. Not bad.
Hope this helps. Have fun on the Valor!
Papa
