We are sailing on 12-11 and have upgraded to adjoining ocean view rooms (with family) on the 11th floor. Was this a good move? Any information would be appreciated.
We get into San Juan at 5:00 p.m. - what would you suggest besides walking tours? Is the rum factory open in the evening? Are there any rainforest tours that late?

I had one of those rooms on the Triumph, and I really liked it. It is a very large Ocean View room with a large floor to ceiling window that slopes 45%. All of the Destiny/Triumph/Conquest Class ships used to have them, but the Liberty is now the only ship that has them.

I really liked the location because you can go outside and be on deck.

Here is a picture I took just as I left the ship

and here is the direct URL:

If you have an adjoining room, then there would be a double door right where the painting is in my picture

It looks like the 11th deck on the Liberty are balcony cabins. The location should be quiet.

Welcome to Cruise-Chat!

Those are excellent cabins featuring floor to ceiling windows and close to the spa. PC GUY is correct it is the only ship left in the class that has those wonderful window cabins. They will most likely be made into balcony cabins next October.

The resource I used for the deck plan must be using the sister ships deck plan. I see the Liberty goes into dry dock in October 2011, maybe they will add the balconies then.

Yes, that happens sometimes. Especially when ships are going through upgrades etc. Some sources will have the same deck plan for all the ships in a particular class. The Fantasy class almost drove me Bonkers with which ship had what.

Thanks! Cruise Fanatic, where do you get the ships deck plans? I haven't been able to find it on Carnival's site.

Any advice for PR?

Here is the link to Carnival's website deck plans. I had used a different source earlier.

The ship getting into PR late does make it harder to do some things. I would look at the shore excursions that Carnival is offering.

The bioluminescent tour is spectacular. And just walking around Old San Juan is fun.
