Hello
We are going on the Esctasy and it is our first cruise. I am needing help in what to wear for formal night. I would love input from people that have been on the Esctasy, also any pictures would be wonderful. My main question is cocktail or long formal dresses ????? Please help a first time cruiser. Thanks

Hey east texas cruiser! We are in Greenville-small world. We have not done the Esctasy but have done the Elation and the Fascination so I imagine the attire would be much the same. I have never worn a full length formal and I think the only time I would would be on one of the "fancier" lines. I always opt for knee length or mid-calf. It's more comfortable to wear and lots easier to shop for. What else can we help you with? Have a great cruise!

Thanks 2 Roses, This is our first cruise and she had no idea on what to wear on formal night. We are also going on the Grandeur of the Sea in Dec, what about a formal for that cruise line ? I know where Greenville is, we live in Palestine.
Thanks again for the help.

Dress code for formal night will be similar on RCCL (Grandeur) to Carnival, perhaps just a smidge dressier. In any case, long gowns are not a necessity.

Hey all ya'll Texans! From north central Texas here (south of Wichita Falls). My wife wore mid-calf dress that she had worn only once to a wedding...looked great! We dressed up twice for the fun of it, & the second night she wore her "little black dress" with her pearls. Wow, she looked good! I just wore the same black suit with different neckties each night. Ecstacy will be a blast. I wrote a full review around May 10th, you can search for "Ecstacy" or just go page back until you see May chat. Have a great time, and you can send me questions anytime.

Dress in what you want! If you want to get into that full length evening dress, then go for it. You won't be the only one. Get dressed up as you want to. Its a great excuse to get some good portraits in formal wear.

Understand though that not everyone is going to be dressed to the nines. Especially on the Texas departures, the "formal dress" code for Galveston includes dress cowboy wear - Hat, buckle, fancy boot and dress jeans... Because that IS formal wear in a good portion of this state.

But we dress up because of the fun..
