I am a confirmed early riser - to see the sunrise at sea is so special to me. Sunset too. And yes, it is made better to see one or the other as you arrive or leave from a port.

I too like the Sunrise and Sunsets. I am opposite and a late riser sometimes. But I love the Sunsets. The sun comes up where I live over the water sometimes and I never get to see a sunset over the water.

It is beautiful! If you ever cruise to Key West which is famous for their sunsets, and have to leave before the sunset.. If you have a good Captain he will stop the ship after leaving the dock for everyone to see the sunset. They have done this twice. But depends on the Captain and time I hear.

We actually are going to Key West....I'll keep that in mind! I am a pretty late sleeper depending on how much fun I had the night before, which is why I asked how to tell the times of the sunrise so that I can get my wake up call in time to not miss them. Thanks everybody!

sunshine-On a really enjoyable cruise I find that I tend to enjoy a lot more sunsets than sunrises. Yet a sunrise at sea is absolutely beyond compare! Enjoy that cruise!

Bon Voyage,

yes, sunsets and rises are nice.. but also try to find out if there might be a full moon rise at night when you are on your cruise.. They don't happen often but if the moon is full and happens to rise about 10PM, it is a sight to behold....

That happened on our last cruise. Had a mini suite just below the observation deck in the front of the ship, heading south and rising out of the water to the east.....awesome site!
