Kelsee,
I hear that only three people are allowed in a taxi....that means you guys would have to get two cabs. I've read about renting a car can be inexpensive, but I don't want to have a wreck with some local and get thrown in jail !!! Also, not sure about insurance in a foreign land, and don't want to get into trouble. See you there! Maybe we should set up a different chat for just us??
Irons are not allowed; so some cruiselines state. They said due to the fire hazard it could create. And after that incedent aboard the Star Princess, I would imagine the cruise lines will get really strict about not allowing people to bring irons with them and pressing their own clothing in their cabins. Some cruise ships, instead, have irons inside the self-service laudromat they have on board. But I discovered first hand that doing your own laundry and ironing your clothing takes allot of time. I could have better spent all that time having fun somewhere else on the ship. So, maybe it would be better just to pay them (the cruiseship) a little extra money and have them do it for you (using the full-service laundry). Don't forget to tip your cabin steward who will pickup and return your clothes to you.
Anything that could be considered a WEAPONwill not be allowed. That includes anything you purchase as a souvenir in port. You will go through airport style security when you re-enter the ship. IF they find anything they consider a weapon they will confiscate it and not give it back.
Sorry I haven't repied to this post lately. My job has kept me very busy and husband has been out of town, so I have had a lot to do around the house. These things will just make me appreciate my vacation even more! Not Much Longer Now! Peach, we are in M185 I think. My sister has all the paperwork. As for your family... the names don't sound familar and Texarkana has grown so much over the years... I truly love living here though. I am so very excited about the cruise. We are planning to do the Atlantas Submarine, shopping and possibly the beach at Play Mia if we have enough time for all three while in Cozumel. We went to Play Mia on our last cruise and loved it. I would recommend it to everyone. I am not sure about Progresso. We will probably do a little shopping and just look around there??? Nothing definite. I just want to relax, catch some rays, see some shows, hit the casino, and eat eat eat all the wonderful food.
only 2 weeks to go!!! am getting antsy, can not wait to get away from this cold weather, we did playa the last 2 cruises my favorite beach in cozumel, Carnival offers a cooking class there at playa which looks like fun, we watch them this past january when we were there and the folks looked like they were having a great time, I may have the 2 grandkids with us as the others will want to go to senior Frogs so It will be hard to watch them and partipate in the class, but we wanted to do it it looked like lots of fun and there were lots of Margaritas being served as they were cooking lololol, I went out and bought Bunny ears for all the girls in our group so if you see some ladies with sequin bunny ears that be us, being silly after all it is Easter coming up, going to surprise them with them when we get on board, lets see if they wear them, they will have to have a few Margaritas first, got a lot of last minute things to do got to go out and get my box of sangria as I do love to have my glass of wine with dinner and at night before I turn in, I am sort of going to miss being in a balcony room this time but we are probably going to hang out on the lido deck alot this time around since we have the kids with us, my grandson is a Fish, we also will be celebrating a Birthday, so it should be one big long party for the 5 days and best of all no WORK now the count down begins............see you on board Fran
One of my friends gave me a book written by a former cruise director for a few different lines, and one of the chapters in the book was what to bring. His advice? DON'T OVERPACK!!! If he said it once, he said it three hundred times. He also said to bring about 1/2 of what you think you need.
One thing to remember is that the cabins are not really huge, and if you have too many suitcases, you'll be tripping over them.
I know that doesn't really tell you what not to bring, but I hope it helps!
There is a Senior Frogs and also I understand that Carlos and Charlies is opened back up at this time. You will find plenty to do.
One of the things we do is always rent a jeep, you can rent one for anywhere from $80.00 - $115.00 for the day and this will include insurance. Cozumel is easy to get around, one road circles the island. This way you can see the island then turn the vehicle back in and go to the clubs to party until ready to board the ship.
woo hoo cruising and peachcrek, when you go on the Ecstasy be nice to Sam, he is one of the social hosts from Canada and was my cabinmate on the Fantasy last year. Tell him Eddy from the fantasy says hi, it will confuse him
