I had found on carnival website that you are permitted one bottle of wine per person 21 years of age. Can you big your own cork opener. Do you know how big the needs to be or How can you travel with wine and a work opner onm on the airplane or must you purchase it in Miami.

I can answer that in regards to Carnival. Yes, you may bring a corkscrew on board. I would check with your airline about their policies. Maybe someone else knows the TSA guidelines.
You can travel with a corkscrew packed in your checked suitcase. I wouldn't advise it in your carry-on luggage. We purchased a large bottle of wine once we got off the plane in Florida - much easier than trying to bring it with you!

BTC, (I hope you don't mind me abbreviating your name) I agree it would be better to buy it after the flight. I'm not a big fan of wearing purple clothes all week. Carnival has a 750ml size restriction on the wine or champagne that can be brought on board. I want to make sure everyone knows that.
For our new members, and returning members, we have an unwritten common policy of not permitting posts or threads that encourage or offer advice about sneaking alcohol on board against the cruise line's policies. No one has done that. Let's keep it that way please.
Do not try bringing 1.5L bottles on board. Like Dwayne has already stated, only 750ml. The original question has been answered. I move that this thread be terminated before it devolves into territory that we have repeatedly travelled. Cruiseonly, if you use the "Find" feature located above your original post and type in "alcohol" you will get umpteen posts about what I am talking about. The corkscrew question was good.
