My daughter is getting married on a 5 day cruise to Key West and Nassau. Have any of you gotten married on Carnival or one of the islands. What do we need to do ourselves and least expensive way to do it?
My husband and I are going to Alaska on a landtour with Princess Sapphire in August. Had this vacation planned for two years. Six months ago our oldest daughter told us she was getting married in July. And today my other daughter told us she was getting married on a cruise in November. Between all of that and a new Grandbaby - we are looking at broke!
Also, is the Facination nice since the massive renovations? Thanks.

Congrats on this news!
I am not sure exactly what you are asking about. Are you going to be planning and/or paying for this wedding cruise?
The Fascination was a nice ship before the renovations made in 2006, and is even nicer now. They haven't added the last phase yet with the Lido pool re-do, Waterworks, and Adult Serenity area.
Please post back with more detail about your question, and I am sure someone will be able to give some advice.
My sister-n-law got married on the Glory last May. My wife and I paid for the wedding, and compared to a normal church wedding at home, we came out alot cheaper. The service was very nice,it was in a chapel aboard the ship while at Port Canaveral. We even paid for their cruise and came out cheaper. The wedding planner they assign you does most of the work and you can chose other upgrades as far as flowers, music, etc. After paying for my two daughters weddings at home, this would br the way I would go from now on.
Sorry I guess I was rambling. I am asking if they do a good job with all of the plans and the wedding being a memorable moment on ship. I don't want it to seem like a last minute put together.
Also, for the price you pay do you get reasonable and nice goods/service for it? Is there anything that I should take on the ship to make those special touches or does the wedding planner take care of all of that.
We are paying for the wedding, ship accomidations and their excursions, so I want to make sure that we are getting the best for our buck. I hope that this clarifies the situation a bit better.
Some friends of mine got married in St. Thomas. When they called the different cruise lines, only Princess would marry them on board. She found a planner in Florida that arranged for their wedding on St. Thomas which was one of the ports on their cruise. Here is a link from Carnival's website that might help you out. Probably be best to call. Maybe bigpapa could help you out, since his sister-in-law was married on the Glory. Best wishes and congratulations, you've had a lot going on!
Carnival does a good job with the weddings. The Wedding department will take care of everything. The wedding will be held in one of the public lounges/rooms. It will be performed like any traditional wedding. The bride will enter the room on the arm of whomever giving her away, and walk up to the area where the afficient and Groom are standing. Usually two white columns with flowers are set up, which the bride and groom stand inbetween. The photographer will be taking the traditional wedding pictures. The ceremony is performed, congratulations, then the champagne toast and cutting of the cake and socializing. This is the simpliest package called "Just the Bride and Groom" Other packages may include paying for an hour long reception which will usually be in another room with hot or cold hordourves, drinks, ice carving. It all depends on what package you purchase.
Overall I think they do a good job. The best part is you don't have all the stress you have with a land wedding back home.
Congratulations on all of your exciting family events! I looked at the packages that Peggy3333 posted via the Carnival site. They seem very reasonable. Good Luck with everything and congrats on the new grandbaby!
